Global Health Diagnostics is a collaborative effort between Daniel Fletcher (Bioengineering), Amy Herr (Bioengineering), Laurent Coscoy (Molecular & Cell Biology), and Talha Syed (UC Berkeley School of Law). The Global Health Diagnostics Initiative (GHDx) at UC Berkeley addresses the need for appropriate, low-cost diagnostic technologies to improve health in low- and middle-income countries. They used IIS funds to launch three student-led working groups. The most advanced working group is the Atlas Health project. Atlas Health aims to provide a powerful software framework to empower global health developers to easily deploy and evaluate their technologies, allowing stakeholders to focus on their data and impact instead of recreating existing infrastructure. The team includes four bioengineering graduate students.
