Ana Giulia Serra is a 4th-year, first-generation transfer student majoring in Sociology and minoring in Health & Wellness. Born and raised in Brazil, they are interested in care work, especially working with system-impacted youth and undocumented immigrant communities. They are planning on getting an MSW after graduating from Cal. In their free time, you can find them tending the land and working in community gardens.
Ploy Sripungwiwat is a junior from Thailand majoring in Economics and minoring in Public Policy. Her research interests include the intersections of democracy and violence, international development, and authoritarianisms. In her free time, Ploy enjoys running and going to Farmers' market.
Han Tseng is a junior from Taipei, Taiwan currently majoring in Political Economy and minoring in Public Policy. His academic interests are business and economics plus international relations, law, and politics, and he is working on the "Racial Justice and Disaster Planning in California" project with Public Policy Professor Michelle Reddy this year. Sabreen is a third year studying Political Science and Human Rights. Her concentration is international relations, with a specific interest in reconciliation and transitional justice. Outside of the IIS fellowship she is a student researcher at Berkeley Law's Human Rights Center, Head of Staff to the ASUC External Affairs Vice Presidents office, and the Co- Director of Faces of Afro Muslims. After undergrad, she plans to attend law school to pursue a career in human rights. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, reading, and exploring the Bay!
Anne Sheng Wu is a second year double majoring in Business Administration and Psychology with a minor in Public Policy. She plans to attend law school after earning her undergraduate degree and hopes to pursue a career in contract law. Her interests include philosophy (Kierkegaard and Camus, in particular), athlete talent management, and shoegaze.
Megan is a fourth-year student studying Sociology, Comparative Literature, and Japanese. Her research interest includes gender and labor, gender in education, feminist cultural theories, reproductive rights, etc. She is currently working on a Thesis on Pre-War proletarian feminist journals, specifically a comparative study of French and Japanese activist literature.
Bim-Ray is a senior majoring in Geography and minoring in City Planning. His research interests at IIS involve studying democratization, sources of political instability, and representing political findings through geospatial technologies and cartographic representations.
