Monica Gao is a senior majoring in sociology. Her academic interests include global migration, immigrants' social movements, de-globalization, and democratic backsliding. Her most recent independent research is concerned with the political incorporation of first-generation Chinese immigrants in SF. She plans on pursing a Phd degree in sociology after graduating from UC Berkeley.
