The Institute of International Studies (IIS) is a multidisciplinary organized research unit. The institute represents an interdisciplinary arena of scholarship characterized by the analysis of connective and systemic dynamics in global politics and economics. Through our programs and events we help cultivate an intellectual community among Berkeley faculty and students who are engaged in the work of international studies. IIS regularly hosts events featuring high-caliber speakers on a wide range of topics and offers a range of programs specifically tailored to the interests and needs of graduate and undergraduate students. IIS is looking to hire an Undergraduate Student Assistant (ideally work study eligible) to provide administrative and general program support. In addition to developing new skill sets, the student assistant will get the opportunity to engage with the Institute’s intellectual life by attending events and meeting affiliated faculty and speakers. Expected start date: Mid/Late January

The Student Assistant reports to the IIS Program Manager, and responsibilities include:
- Prepare and submit invoices and reimbursement requests using UC Berkeley systems
- Assist with event logistics such as travel arrangements and accommodations for visiting speakers
- Assist with in-person event logistics (technology and room setup, welcome attendees, catering set up, clean up, etc.)
- Other projects as assigned
