James Fallows
National Correspondent, The Atlantic Monthly
James Fallows is a national correspondent for The Atlantic Monthly and has worked for the magazine for more than 25 years. He has written for the magazine on a wide range of topics, including national security policy, American politics, the development and impact of technology, economic trends and patterns, and U.S. relations with the Middle East, Asia, and other parts of the world. 

Mr. Fallows is also well known to National Public Radio listeners through his weekly commentaries on Morning Edition in the 1980s and 1990s and now on Weekend All Things Considered. He serves as a Director of New America Foundation. Mr. Fallows has authored several influential books, including Looking at the Sun, More Like Us, and National Defense, for which he won a National Book Award. His book, Breaking the News, helped sparked a much-needed national debate about the profound problems in American journalism. His most recent book Postcards from Tomorrow Square, is based on his three years' reporting from China, from 2006 to 2008.
