Junior Faculty Fellowships

Description:

The Junior Faculty Program is designed to support junior faculty engaged in international research and teaching.  Junior faculty members from all departments are encouraged to apply. The grant and associated activities have been supported since Spring 2011.

Supported activities: The Institute aims to foster open dialogue and academic exchange among junior faculty members across various disciplines.  Funds awarded may be used for research support at the discretion of the junior faculty members, and should be used within University guidelines.

Requirements of Fellows: The Fellows will form a seminar group that will ideally meet bimonthly over lunch to discuss work in progress. The Fellowship carries with it the understanding that each recipient will:
  • Present his/her current work at one of the lunch meetings;
  • Review the presenter's work prior to each meeting; and
  • Attend the lunch meetings on a regular basis and participate actively.
One or two Fellows will be designated as the Fellowship Coordinator(s), and they may receive a slightly larger grant to defer the time investment of managing the group's activities.  Applicants who are interested in the position should state this in their proposal.
Application Details:
